The Injury News Is Good As Daniel Farke Speaks Ahead Of Chelsea Test

|

Onel Hernandez has had successful surgery and will be out for around three months, Daniel Farke said when he spoke to the assembled media at Colney on Friday lunchtime.

The expected time frame for his recovery suggests that he has not suffered an Anterior Cruciate knee ligament problem. That is good news because if it were an ACL injury then the recovery time could be expected to be at least double that.

We’re still going to miss Onel for three months though.

In other injury news, Timm Klose is back in the squad, although described by Farke as being unlikely to be a starting topic.

Christoph Zimmermann is back in training as well and could be in contention for a match day recall for next week’s game at West Ham.

Josip Drmic is still out, struggling with hamstring problems.

Norwich welcome “Frank Lampard’s” Chelsea to Carrow Road tomorrow with the 3-1 demolition of Newcastle last week, still attracting the attention of national and international journalists.

Teemu Pukki’s hat-trick got all the plaudits but Farke insists that Pukki is a real team player:

“Teemu has a natural instinct when it comes to scoring goals. I have always liked his movement. He has always thought about the team. We followed him and were delighted we took our chance to sign him. It’s not gone to too bad.”

“Teemu’s form is not surprising. He’s so good when you have a striker in this form. It’s good for him to have a good start. Not only his goals, his workload is outstanding.”

“We don’t want to win individual statistics, we just want to win as many points as possible. I’m confident Teemu can continue his form”

“He has no target. Top quality strikers know there are no targets, it’s all about the team.”

Chelsea will be looking to get their first three points of the season, with Blues’ defender, Kurt Zouma having suggested that this is a “must win” game for Chelsea.

Norwich though, will fancy their chances of putting on another show against Lampard’s star studded team.

I fancy their chances too.
