James Maddison could be a January transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur says the London Evening Standard as reported by The EDP
Maddison has been in scorching form this season, scoring 8 goals with almost as many assists and he has also received an England U21 call up and his first cap.
The 21 year old is the jewel in the City crown and he is one of those rare players that can change a game on his own – he`s a match winner, we all know that and the big question now is can we hold on to him for the rest of the season?
A figure of £20m is being bandied about in the press, as is the suggestion that Spurs could make such a January bid to steal a march on rivals like Liverpool and Manchester City and then loan him back to City for the rest of this season, in a similar fashion to when they bought Dele Alli from MK Dons and we did with Coventry when we bought Maddison.
It seems that we stand little or no chance of keeping Madders or of getting him tied down to an even longer contract, so we`ve got to look to get the biggest fee we can, as well as keeping him for as long as possible – this might be the best way round it.
