A one nil win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers last night, means that Norwich City have finished tenth in the U21 Premier League which means that they will remain in the Elite Group next season.

Josh Murphy was the hero with a second half goal that ensured the win over a resilient Wolves side.

Coach Jerry Gill said: ‘We came out in the end deserved winners of the game. We posed more questions and a bit of quality from Josh won us the game.

‘As an achievement for the Academy, to get in the top league for next season is fantastic. We can now say we’re going back to places like Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City. We’ll look forward to that next season.’

A 2-2 draw at Manchester United last week meant that City had every chance should they at least draw this game. As it turned out a win settled the matter.

The game also saw Elliot Bennett step up his return to the first team squad after an ACL knee injury and he again completed the full 90 minutes without incident.

Well done lads!
