Unexpected Injury Boost For Norwich Ahead Of Tough Bristol Test

Timm Klose and Moritz Leitner both have a full week’s training under their belts and both will come under consideration for Saturday’s game with Bristol City at Carrow Road, Daniel Farke told the assembled media at his usual Friday presser.

Leitner could start “in an emergency,” Farke said but it seems likely that he will be on  the bench alongside Klose.

Alex Tettey is back in training and could be back for the Millwall game but the really good news is that Mario Vrancic is also back and actually in contention for tomorrow.

Farke explained that having been to Germany to see a specialist, Vrancic was given the all clear. Having only missed twelve days, his fitness levels will still be good and he is back in the squad.

Whether or not he’s going to start isn’t clear, especially as Kenny McLean played so well against Bolton. McLean will no doubt be keeping his fingers crossed and if I was a betting man, I reckon he’ll stick with Kenny, unless Mario is absolutely 100% fit and there is no risk.

It’s nice to see all midfield options available again as the season runs down.

There was also a word for new boy Philip Heise, who has fitted in well but who currently has the excellent form of Jamal Lewis as a big obstacle to playing time.

Farke also spoke plenty about Bristol City, the league’s form team having won nine in a row, and how they need to find solutions to their high press and counter-attacking.

Another home game presents an opportunity for points and the chance, according to Farke, to get closer to ensuring a play-off place.

Clearly one step at a time for Daniel, which I like.
