The Tuckster with a further rumour that has City continuing to look at Ricky Van Wolfswinkel…

Talksport are carrying a story today suggesting that the Canaries are looking to offer £10m in the summer for Sporting Lisbon Striker, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.

This story first surfaced during the January transfer window and it seems it won’t go away, suggesting that there may be something in it.

The 24yr old Dutch International has scored 12 times this season and reports suggest that ‘financially crippled’ Sporting are ready to sell.

I’ve written before that this would be a great signing, in my opinion.

Let’s hope that this story has some legs…

  • why is it being raised at this time.
if he does leave we will be last in the queue as we will offer less than another other premier league club.

  • If we stay up there will be two things……
    a) We will be debt free and in the black.
Using the finger on one hand name the prmemiership clubs that will be able to claim this.
    b) The vast increase in revenue will allow the club much higher bids.

  • The fact that we are debt free is why we will not be in a position to sign him. All other clubs rightly or wrongly spend money on higher fees and wages and not writing off debt and as such have more money available to sign players.
The vast increase in revenue will be available to all clubs many of which have rich owners which basically means that the same clubs will be able to buy the best players with the fees and wages getting even larger. The additional money will not allow Norwich to be in a better position but in fact a worse one as we use money to pay of debt whilst the other are likely to double their wages ceiling.
