Aston Villa will offer Ross McCormack in part exchange for Robbie Brady according to the Sun
Steve Bruce managed Brady at Hull and is a long term admirer of the Norwich Winger/full back. City lost out to Villa in the summer in a transfer battle for McCormack with the price going up to £12m and a rumoured £40k per week.
That was too much for Norwich but since then, McCormack has done rock all and clearly Bruce doesn’t fancy him as he’s trying to move him on. I have it on very good authority that Norwich have already been offered McCormack in this window by Villa.
The former Fulham man has a huge contract at Villa that also includes a pay rise if promotion to the Premier League is attained, I suspect that there is no chance this deal will happen unless McCormack’s wage demands are drastically reduced.
Would Alex Neil still want him anyway? He wanted him badly enough in the summer to go to a reported £10m, so who knows. It does seem likely though that Villa will want to try and recoup as much money as possible on a player who has been a flop and is currently a financial mill stone around their neck.
