Striker Sam Vokes looks set to be recalled from his loan spell after next week’s East Anglian derby.

21-year-old Vokes joined on loan until the end of the season from Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, but the Premier League side are entitled to recall him after the first 28 days of the loan period.

Boss Mick McCarthy has somewhat of a striker crisis of his own with Kevin Doyle our for the season and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake likely to follow suit, and was quoted yesterday as saying he was ‘looking at’ the option of taking Vokes back to Molineux.

The former Bournemouth trainee scored his first goal in City colours against Watford on Tuesday night, and has so far made two appearances for the club.
