According to the Sunday Mirror, Victor Wanyama will be left out of today’s squad to face Norwich at St.Mary’s this afternoon (1.30ko) with the player insisting he wants to be allowed to join Spurs.
The player missed Thursday night’s Europa league qualifier defeat to FC Midtjylland with a reported stomach infection but it seems no secret that Wanyama wants out of Southampton.
The Mirror report that he has made his feelings very clear to Ronald Koeman and the story suggests that Spurs will make a serious move in the next 48hrs.
Wanyama is a big player for Southampton and his absence can only help as Alex Neil’s men seek to set a new record for being unbeaten in away games. Currently sitting on 13 away games without defeat, they hope to beat a club record that has stood for nearly thirty years, although the point(s) such a result would bring would be much more welcome.
