Marley Watkins has withdrawn from the Wales squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Georgia (away) and the Republic of Ireland (home) due to injury.
The Welsh need a minimum of four points from those last two games to confirm a play off spot and probable second place finish in Group D.
Already without Gareth Bale due to injury, manager Chris Coleman will be hoping that he doesn’t get any more call offs.
Meanwhile, the FA have confirmed that Watkins will receive a three match ban for the red card he received at Reading on Saturday, ironically for a two footed lunge on his Welsh team mate, Chris Gunter.
That suspension means he will miss the home game against Hull, the away match at Ipswich and the Carabao Cup tie at Arsenal – three massive, crucial games.
Marley has tweeted that his injury is ‘just an impact injury’ and that it should be sorted by the end of his suspension.
