Winger Simon Whaley has returned to the club after his loan spell at Bradford City ended.

Whaley scored in his first start for the Bantams against Grimsby Town but only made six appearances for the club during his time at Valley Parade.

Bantams boss Stuart McCall will not be looking to extend the loan, bringing Whaley back to Colney to fight for his place in the side – where presumably he is still way down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old former Preston North End winger joined the club in the summer for a fee of around £150,000 but failed to establish himself in Paul Lambert’s side.

After making six appearances for City in all competitions he spent two months on loan at Rochdale scoring twice in nine matches, but returned to the club after Dale failed to come to an agreement with the Canaries over extending his stay at Spotland.
