Savvy kicks off the Silly Season by looking at the rumours of Jacob Mulenga interesting City…

28-year-old Zambian international striker Jacob Mulenga is being linked with a move to Chris Hughton’s Norwich City.

Mulenga is 6 foot 1 and weighs nearly 14 stone should fit in well in the English top flight. He has recently been talking up a move to England via an interview with the BBC.

‘For most Zambians, their ambition is to play in England in the Premier League.

‘Hopefully as soon as everything is sorted with my agents and everyone, I’ll be able to move.’

Apparently a bid has been accepted, but this could also end up being another Lucas Biglia type story where it’s an agent trying to try to tempt other clubs to bid.

Let’s hope this is genuine though. Mulenga seems half decent. 31 caps for Zambia, and more importantly 25 goals in 65 games for Utrecht in the Netherlands. The only downside is that he is due to represent Zambia in the African Nations Cup, so would be away from the 3rd week in Jan.

In another Morison story, The Independent have linked Steve Bruce, now manager at Hull, with a move for the out of form front man. Aston Villa is perhaps the strongest link so far on that one though.
