NORWICH’s long-suffering fans had another night to forget, even by their standards, after losing two goals in the opening four minutes in their defeat at Burnley on Tuesday night.

Carrow Road ‘favourite’ Robbie Blake took less than 60 seconds to give Burnley the lead, with Norwich defender Jon Otsemobor giving away a penalty which Andy Gray duly converted three minutes later.

Norwich did show some fight over the course of the game, and bagged a goal of their own in the second half; Chris Brown sliding the ball passed Gabor Kiraly in the Burnley goal. It was the big forward’s first ever strike for Norwich, coming after 20 appearances.

But, with Norwich ending the game with Hartson, Cureton, Huckerby, Jimmy Smith and Brown all on the pitch, they failed to bring an equaliser.

The defeat was the second under the stewardship of caretaker boss Jim Duffy, which effectively rules him out of the running for the full-time position – providing Norwich find someone else willing to take the job.

Next up for the Canaries? West Brom, Ipswich and Watford.
So who will be in charge?

It is believed Phil Parkinson, the former Colchester manager and currently Alan Pardew’s No.2 at Charlton, has been interviewed for the Norwich job. Do the board fancy taking s punt at another of Pardew’s right-hand men after PG?

Steve Tilson has also been strongly linked with a move to Carrow Road, but Paul Jewell remians in contention.
Whether this is because he is uncontactable in Dubai is a moot point.

Whatever the case, City need a new manager, and a good one, as soon as possible.
