Steven Naismith`s proposed loan move to Hearts has been confirmed after he arrived at Tynecastle for his medical earlier today, as reported by the EDP

The EDP also have a little detail on who`s paying what to make this deal happen and it isn`t quite as rosy as many of us would like.

It`s being suggested that Hearts will take on around a quarter of the Scottish international`s large salary, thought to be £30k+ per week, which isn`t brilliant but is probably quite a big deal for the SPL.

It makes me wonder if Rangers can afford Russell Martin`s salary in full or whether we`ve had to agree some sort of percentage deal there too.

Naismith, like Martin, needs to be playing regular football and if both have successful loan spells with their respective clubs then perhaps more permanent transfers can be concluded in the summer. In the meantime, their salaries, even in part, off the weekly wage bill at Carrow Road should give Messrs Webber and Farke a little more room to manoeuvre in the transfer window.
