City striker Carl Cort is to have an operation tomorrow on a troublesome foot injury.

Cort has made 13 appearances since joining the club as a free agent scoring once (at Wolves in February), and speaking to canaries.co.uk on the news boss Bryan Gunn said:

‘Carl is visiting a specialist in London tomorrow to remove a bursar from his foot. It’s an injury more commonly found in athletics rather than football – it’s not a break but it’s painful and requires an operation.

Once he returns from his operation we’ll be in a position to assess how long Carl will be out of action.’

It is bad news for Cort, who will face a struggle to overtake the likes of David Mooney, Alan Lee, Alan Gow and Cody McDonald to get back into the team – even if he is fit before the end of the season.
