I’m writing this in my kitchen as I start the day with a bowl of porridge (the breakfast of champions) and I’m looking at a couple of reports about our two strikers, Cameron Jerome and Nelson Oliveira.

First off, I’d be surprised if we sold one of them, never mind both, without some sort of replacement and hopefully that’s not some lad from Bundesliga 2.

Anyway, here’s the news on Jerome.

Overnight there are reports that Cam is wanted by Derby County and you can read about that courtesy of the Derby Telegraph

At 31 years old, I would’ve considered selling him earlier in the window but not today.

With regard to Nelson Oliveira who is currently away with Portugal, the suggestion is that a £12m bid has been accepted by Norwich from Swansea City. You can read about that via football insider

Stranger things have happened but surely we won’t be selling Nelson either, unless, as I say, Stuart Webber has a big replacement lined up.

Thinking about it though, we’re Norwich and we’re not in a position to get ‘big replacements’, so best we keep him.

I wouldn’t put too much faith in all this as being gospel but you really do never know – remember selling Bradley Johnson? That came out of left field with ten minutes of the window left. The difference was though that we’d already signed a replacement in Robbie Brady.

Who knows? I expect there’ll be some wild rumours flying about today.

Have a good one.
