Norwich City have tonight announced the loan signing of Javier Garrido from Serie A side, Lazio.

The 27yr old has signed on a season long loan with apparently, an option to make the move permanent.

Garrido has a huge wealth of experience having played in La Liga with Real Sociedad, the Premier League where he played 39 times for Man City between 2007 – 2010 and also Serie A after he signed for Lazio in 2010.

It seems his game time was limited in Rome and Chris Hughton has taken advantage to bring him back to England.

It was obvious to all after the departure of Adam Drury that another left back was needed. Marc Tierney suffered from a long term injury last season and competition is healthy for all, although Mr Tierney may now be looking over his shoulder.

The word from a Man City supporting mate of mine is that Garrido is solid, dependable and takes a mean free kick – the general thought seems to be that this is a good signing and he won’t let anybody down.

A thumbs up, I reckon.
