WEST BROMICH ALBION and Wales striker John Hartson has joined Norwich City on a month’s loan deal.

The 32-year-old has been brought in by caretaker manager Jim Duffy to solve City’s goal-scoring crisis, with Norwich currently averaging a goal every two games.

It is over nine hours since the Canaries last put the ball in the back on the net.

Hartson’s loan move may be extended until the end of December should Norwich wish, by which time Norwich should have solved their current management vacancy.

In many ways, it hasn’t mattered who Norwich playing up front in recent games, due to the woeful support and service from midfield.

The Baggies’ fans have been quick to make the connection between John Hartson, Delia Smith and any contractual agreements surrounding food.

We, however, wouldn’t dream of commenting on such matters.

Hartson is expected to make his Norwich debut against Bristol City at Carrow Road a week on Saturday.

We are all waiting to see who will be in charge of the team.

Speaking of the vacant hot seat at Carrow Road, latest rumours suggest failed Charlton manager Les Reid, ex-England boss Glenn Hoddle and the massive head of Joe Royle are being interviewed for the job.

Crumbs. Let’s hope the high-calibre candidates haven’t been contacted yet.

So is Hartson a good signing, expensive move, or have City finally lost the plot?

Do the manager rumours reassure or petrify you?
