Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick is selling Burnley to Robbie Brady says his fellow Irish international and club team mate, Stephen Ward.

Reports have surfaced during the week linking the Clarets with a move for the Norwich winger, although he’s probably better described as a ‘utility man’ as he seems to be literally able to play anywhere.

Stephen Ward has given an interview to the Irish Independent and you can read about it all here

This is a bit of what he had to say:

‘Jeff has known Robbie for a long time as they played football together at school, so they have been texting each other about the transfer rumours.

Jeff has let Robbie know that this would be a great club for him to join and it would be fantastic to have him here because he would give us another dimension.

It would also be great to have another Irish voice around the place and I`d love to see Robbie here, but we only find out about transfers when they are confirmed by the club. We tend to be the last people to find out.

I was surprised that Robbie didn`t get a move to a Premier League club after he did so well for Ireland at the Euros last summer, but I think the price tag Norwich put on him meant it didn`t happen.’

Although clubs aren’t allowed to tap up players, it seems as though there’s no problem with old school friends chatting and why should there be?

However, before anything happens, Burnley need to pay the right money, something that it doesn’t seem as though they’ve done yet.
