A mazy run from Darren Huckerby followed by a simple finish from Iwan Roberts earned the Canaries a share of the spoils the last time they travelled to Wigan.

The hosts had by far the better of the early play and deservedly took the lead through Andy Liddell after 25 minutes.

Jimmy Bullard won a corner and after Peter Kennedy’s cross broke to Liddell unmarked at the far post the former Barnsley man smashed the ball beyond the helpless Robert Green from six yards.

The Latics continued to create chances and would have doubled their advantage eight minutes later had Bullard not managed to miss a simple header from close range.

City looked much more lively in the second half, and after Roberts hit the bar from distance managed to level matters after 63 minutes.

Huckerby took off down the left flank leaving four Wigan defenders in his wake before squaring the ball to Roberts who couldn’t miss.
