The Canaries U23 Development squad had a run out at Lowestoft last night in a local friendly that gave the assembled fans the chance to see a few of the new younger signings.

It had seemed likely in the run up to the game that there may be one or two senior pros in the squad, those in need of match fitness like Timm Klose. However, it wasn’t to be with the crowd having to make do with the likes of Adam Phillips, Pierre Fonkeu and Savvas Mourgos as Matt Gill fielded a young side.

It was new signing, former Arsenal man Mourgos who opened the scoring in the first half with a terrific 25 yard effort that gave the Lowestoft keeper, Elvijs Putnins no chance.

Adam Phillips then scored a second, low from the edge of the area after a Mourgos cut back before Devonte Aransibia showed some quick feet in the area to score from close range on 67 minutes.

The U23 squad return to Premier League 2 action as they travel to face Newcastle next Monday.
