James Maddison and Angus Gunn have both been named in the England U21 squad today by manager, Aidy Boothroyd.

Gunn had been talked of as being potentially in the full England squad but along with team mate Maddison, both have been named in the U21 squad that will play a friendly match against Romania at Wolves Molineux stadium on March 24th. The game will also serve as a tribute to Cyrille Regis.

England U21s will then then host Ukraine at Sheffield United`s Bramall Lane on March 27, in their bid to reach next summer`s European Championship finals.

The young Lions currently top Group 4 with 13 points from 5 games and a lead of 5 points over joint second placed Ukraine and the Netherlands.

Marcus Edwards has been called up to the England U20 squad, despite not making an appearance for Norwich since joining on loan in January from Spurs.

The call ups for Madders and Gunn will be of little surprise to anyone who has watched them this season. Both have been in top form with Maddison adding pounds to his prospective value seemingly with every passing game.

Performing on the international stage, albeit for the U21s can only help further when inevitably, Norwich have to cash in on Madders.
