Maxi Lopez?

Image for Maxi Lopez?

After seeing a bid rejected by Juventus for Fabio Quagliarella, Forza Italia are reporting that City are now turning their attentions towards Catania Striker, Maxi Lopez.

The 29 year old Argentinean also holds an Italian passport, like our own Lucciano Becchio, so a work visa would not be a problem. He is reportedly available for 5m euros.

A quick look at his stats is not exactly breathtaking and he has seen action at quite a few clubs including Barcelona and AC Milan, although he didn`t exactly shine at either.

He signed for Catania in 2009 and has made 69 appearances and scored 25 goals before spending time on loan at Milan and then last season at Sampdoria where he scored 4 goals in 16 appearances, although game time was limited by injury.

Hardly startling eh?

The report doesn`t seem to have any concrete source but as usual, I figured you guys would like to know.

Fabio Quagliarella he ain`t. He`s not even Gary Hooper to my mind!
