Norwich U23s Thrash Borussia Dortmund II

Norwich City’s U23 squad handed out a drubbing to Borussia Dortmund II in the development squad’s second pre-season match of the German tour.

The score ended up being 6-0 to the (mostly) young Canaries with Adam Idah scoring four and Anthony Spyrou getting two. I think you’ll agree, that is an impressive score line.

The much vaunted Adam Idah got the rout underway with a penalty inside three minutes before Spyrou headed home a Kamal corner ten minutes later.

Both of the young strikers scored another goal apiece as the Canaries went into the half time break with a 4-0 lead.

I mentioned that this was a “mostly” young side because Russell Martin played in the centre of defence, doing his best to raise the average age. Daniel Farke has since said that a loan exit is likely for Martin and it’s clear that he’s keeping his fitness up with the U23s in preparation.

In the second half, Idah scored twice more, leaving the young Germans  to finish the game empty handed and with more than a little egg on their faces.

Great result, eh?!
