Glenn Roeder has been sacked as manager of Norwich City.

An official statement on the club’s website from chairman Roger Munby reads:

‘We’d like to place on record our sincere gratitude for what Glenn and his staff achieved last season when they saved the club from relegation against the odds.

‘However this season the position has become untenable and it is with great regret that the board has decided to take this step. We are in the process of deciding who will take charge of the team for Saturday’s Championship match against Barnsley at Carrow Road and a further announcement will be made about this in due course.’

The club also confirmed that first team coaches Adam Sadler and Paul Stephenson have left the club with immediate effect.

We’ll have more on this as it comes through, but in the meantime feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments box below, or head over to the Forum.
