Louis Thompson has been ruled out for ‘at least six months’ after another Achilles’ tendon operation the club have announced on Canaries.co.uk
The 22 year old midfielder missed a large chunk of last season due to a similar problem and was thought to be nearing fitness for the new season. This latest setback is a blow to the player, the club and the fans, who were looking forward to seeing him back in action.
Sporting Director Stuart Webber told canaries.co.uk: ‘Everyone at Norwich City is bitterly disappointed for Louis following this news.
‘It is expected Louis will be unavailable for a substantial period, if not the entirety, of this season. However, we will be working with him to ensure he is able to return to fitness at the earliest opportunity.’
That will mean the club are probably going to have to sign another midfielder as I was expecting Louis to be a big part of the squad this season.
