Norwich City`s U18 side we`re dumped out of the FA Youth Cup at a wintry Carrow Road last night.

The young Canaries had reached last night`s quarter final of the competition with several nail biting performances, often coming from behind to win games but Birmingham was a game too far.

After a goalless first half, the visitors went in front on 53 minutes with a break away goal from Tom Anderson. Just two minutes later and Jordan Clarke had added another, giving City a mountain to climb.

The third goal was going to be crucial but it went to Birmingham substitute, Josh Andrews ten minutes from the end, effectively making it game over.

Anthony Spyrou scored a late consolation goal but it just wasn`t to be on the night in front of a crowd of around 1500 hardy souls who turned out in the snow and ice.

FT 1-3

Norwich: Hale-Brown; Aarons, Odusina, Ekumah, Kamal; Fleming (Keller 83), Payne (C), Barnes (Hutchinson 63), Barkarson; Spyrou, Idah. Unused subs: Dickerson (GK), Mehmeti, Dronfield
