Norwich City’s U23 Development side moved past Fulham in a dramatic game at Colney to bag a place in the Quarter Finals of the Premier League Cup.

City found themselves 0-2 down early on but were hauled back into the game via a superb first half Louis McIntosh hat-trick, to lead at half time.

Fulham levelled on 69 minutes and the game went into extra time after the whistle blew at full time with the scores level at 3-3.

Fulham then edged in front on 94 minutes only for Ebou Adams to level just a minute later. Adams then conceded a penalty on 112 minutes, which was scored, to give the visitors a late and potentially decisive lead.

That could’ve been the end but Anthony Spyrou stabbed home from close range just three minutes from time to force a penalty shootout.

City’s young keeper, Aston Oxborough saved from Josh Walker with the score level at 1-1 but Louis Ramsey blasted his kick over the bar, wasting the chance to take the lead.

Josh Smile and Conor McGrandles then traded successful spot kicks before Oxborough again made another fine save from Elijah Adebayo.

Louis McIntosh then scored, meaning Fulham had to score to stay in the game. Foday Nabay then smashed his kick against the crossbar and away, meaning it was Norwich who stepped into the last eight of the competition.
