With the Canary’s proud promotion to the Premier League now confirmed, all eyes are understandably starting to focus on what happens next.

Inevitably this means that some of the heroes who fought so hard to book a place at the top-table of English football may not get the opportunity to prove themselves there.

A few are out of contract, some will get the chance to rub shoulders with Rooney and co, but several will be deemed surplus to requirements and will be plying their trade elsewhere.

So with that in mind (and not at all ripping off a series of articles on Vital Pompey) we decided to flick through the City squad to see who we think fits into each category…

After having a big part in the 2009/10 League One title-winning campaign Korey Smith started the season at the heart of the City midfield.

Although undoubtedly a talented midfielder, Smith lost his place in the side to the excellent David Fox, and had to spent most of the second half of the season on the bench.

It’ll probably be more of the same next season for the former Academy graduate, although Smith may find himself sent on loan to a decent Championship outit in a bid to pick up regular first team football.
