Worthy’s after revenge

Norwich travel to Leicester to face a side in desperate need of a victory. Obviously we need the points aswell but Nigel Worthington’s side are still in great danger of being relegated.

They are five points off the relegation zone and after facing the Canaries and Birmingham at home they have two away games followed by a home game against Wolves on the last day of the season. They need the win.

Everything seems written for a Norwich defeat. Worthington is bound to beat us, our away form is poor, we have injuries galore and it’s a huge, huge game for Leicester.

Hope I’m wrong though. We still have to quality to beat them and if we perform like we did at Hull then we can beat them. Will be an interesting encounter.

The Build Up:

Dion Dublin: “I know it is going to be a very difficult game. If the players get a chance to kick me and the fans get a chance to boo me then they will do – if I’m selected – so we will have to wait and see on that one. But I always look forward to going back to the Walkers it’s a great place to play.”

Lee Croft: “I think it will be nice to see him because he was a nice bloke and all the lads got on well with him. He did a lot of good things for Norwich when he was here.”

Nigel Worthington: ‘It’s bizarre how it’s worked out but that’s the game of football. It certainly adds some spice to the game but we will be looking to get off to a good start – but it won’t be easy.’

Leicester City Team News:

Leicester areboosted by the return to fitness of Gareth McAuley. The defender has been out with a hamstring injury for a month but will return to an otherwise fit side. Darren Kenton is set to face his former side.

Player to watch: Darren Kenton

Kenton fell out with new boss Nigel Worthington during his time at Carrow Road. I’ve always rated him as a player and was gutted when he left us. Will be interesting to see how he gets on against us.

Norwich City Team News:

Where do I start? Earnshaw, Chadwick, Thorne, Brown and Safri are all definetly out and their our fitness doubts hanging over Jason Shackell, Gary Doherty, Mark Fotheringham and Simon Lappin. Dion Dublin will be forced to return to centre back as the injury crisis hits us yet again.

Player to watch: Dion Dublin

Facing one of his many former clubs, Dublin will certainly be up for the game. How he plays, given all the injuries could determine whether we get a positive result or not.

It’s a Fact!

FACT! Norwich’s 3-1 victory over Leicester earlier in the season, is the only time the Canaries have scored more than twice under Peter Grant at Carrow Road.

FACT! Leicester are without a victory in eight games.

FACT! Only Barnsley have conceded more away goals than Norwich this season.

Match Prediction:

I’d love to say a win. But I just can’t see it. I’ll go for a 1-1 draw. We’ll take the lead through Hucks, then they’ll grab a late equaliser.
