Both Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have issued official club statements today after allegations of racist behaviour were made during the match between the two sides on Sunday.

The allegations seem to centre on comments made by fans within the Norwich section of the crowd towards other members of the Canary support.

On twitter after the game, several fans reported that racist comments had been made towards members of Elliot Bennett’s family and friends, although this has not been confirmed.

On a positive note, the Wolves statement says that due to the actions of Norwich fans, the perpetrators have been identified. Head over to the two club’s official websites for the statements in full.

The matter is likely to be investigated further by both clubs and if necessary handed to the Police for a criminal investigation.
