Stoke Bid £5m For Redmond

The Telegraph are reporting this afternoon that Stoke City have made a £5m bid for Nathan Redmond and want Norwich to make a decision within 24 hours.

This is reportedly the second bid that Stoke have made for the winger, having had an offer turned down in July, along with Southampton. Mark Hughes’ search for a winger this summer is well known and Mark Bowen confirmed that Redmond is ‘a player they like’ when asked about it last month.

The report says that Stoke hope to persuade Norwich to do business but also that Norwich have been quoting ‘extortionate’ fees when faced with enquiries for their players since relegation – that probably why Leroy Fer and Martin Olsson are still here.

£5m is still not enough in my opinion. I know he’s not proven and wasn’t great yesterday but his potential is what any prospective purchaser would be paying for and that in itself is worth quite a bit more in my humble opinion.
