Alex Neil gave a fairly bleak press conference, in terms of injuries, at Colney today as he spoke to the assembled media and the EDP

‘The injury list isn’t looking any better, which is disappointing. If anything it might be added to. We’ve got another couple that might be struggling but we just need to crack on with it’ Neil told Norwich City TV

Ivo Pinto missed the draw with Newcastle and was described as being ‘touch and go’ by Neil for this match in the run up to Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with the Magpies. Steven Naismith’s hamstring has seen him miss the last four games and Youssouf Mulumbu (thigh) missed the game on Tuesday.

‘He (Pinto) looks as if he’s going to struggle. Steven Naismith is still out and Youssouf Mulumbu is still struggling,’ City’s boss added.

Nelson Oliveira has suffered a foot injury and will miss 4-6 weeks Neil confirmed which, let’s be honest, is a real hammer blow for our play off hopes. With Kyle Lafferty now the only option to Cameron Jerome, the next month or so is going to be a fingers crossed scenario for the Canary faithful. I have little confidence that Lafferty can reach the levels of performance we’ve seen from Nelson and Cam of late, do you?

Also, although he didn’t name them, Neil also revealed that two more players are struggling after the Newcastle game.

On a more positive note, James Maddison is back in training after back trouble and will be in the squad for this game, Neil citing that he needs him to make up the numbers.
