Norwich City striker Cody McDonald says he would be interested in a permanent move to Gillingham.

The former Dartford front-man has spent an impressive season on loan at Priestfield, scoring 22 goals so far as the Gills push for promotion back to League One.

He still has a year to run on his Carrow Road contract but the 24-year-old told BBC Radio Kent he is hopeful something can be sorted out.

‘It’s been fantastic and you never know maybe something can be sorted for next year,’ he said.

‘I love it here, the supporters are brilliant, the players are brilliant, everyone’s made me feel so welcome.’
