Geez, this season, eh?!
Injuries, injuries and more injuries, it’s literally never ending with two more players, one of them absolutely key, ruled out for the next couple of games.
Daniel Farke broke the news at his usual pre-match press conference, ahead of the visit from Chris Hughton’s Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening. Watching, as ever, was Vital Norwich forum stalwart FC Bears. Here’s his take on what was discussed…
So many injuries – it is crazy.
Placheta and Gibson are both out for two weeks so will miss tomorrow, Blackburn and Reading. I do fear that we will be down to one central defender by that point. DF said Lukas Rupp will not be back for these next three games either.
The loss of any first team player at the moment just adds to the injury issues but losing Ben Gibson in particular is a huge blow. He’s been great since he joined us.
There is some good news though, Todd Cantwell should be on the bench tomorrow as long as training goes well today and Mario Vrancic will also be fit, having suffered a bout of cramp that saw him subbed late at the end of the win over Sheffield Wednesday. Kenny McLean, Kieran Dowell and Jordan Hugill are also likely to be back in training this week. Get those lads back and it’ll surely soon start looking a lot rosier.
There’s also good news about Tim Krul.
🗣 DF: Tim Krul is improving every day. He will hopefully be back very soon. #NCFC pic.twitter.com/LgxFEBO5Ux
