Norwich City have signed Elliott Bennett from Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old winger has signed a three-year deal and will join officially once all the relevant paperwork has been completed.

Bennett scored eight times last season as Brighton cruised to the League One title, but his record of twenty assists is far more impressive.

He made a total of 100 appearances for the Seagull in all competitions scoring 17 times, and speaking to canaries.co.uk City boss Paul Lambert said:

‘He’s a young and exciting player with plenty of pace. He can play in a wide position or in behind the forwards – he’s a quick lad and he’s got a winning mentality.

‘He played his full part in what Brighton achieved last season and that desire to succeed will stand him in good stead here.’

Bennett becomes Lambert’s third signing of the summer so far, joining James Vaughan and Steve Morison in moving to Carrow Road.
