Good News For Norwich Fans! Daniel Farke’s Sheffield Wednesday Press Conference – A Fan’s View

|

After watching Norwich City struggle at Luton on Wednesday night, I think we’re all hoping this injury crisis finishes as soon as possible. In the meantime, City have been grinding out results for the most part and are still top of the league.

Speaking at his usual pre-match press conference, ahead of the visit on Saturday from Tony Pulis’ Sheffield Wednesday, Daniel Farke spoke to the media via video and he had some good news for the Canary Nation. Watching on our behalf was Vital Norwich forum stalwart, FC Bears. Here’s his take on what was said…

Teemu Pukki is back fit again!

All the players involved at Luton on Wednesday night are fit too.

Todd Cantwell, Jordan Hugill and Kieron Dowell are also all back in training from this coming Sunday.

Daniel Farke says that he knows we need new one or two new players in January but that we might not need anyone, depending on players returning to full fitness.

He says we are good financially.

DF is happy that we have Michael McGovern as back up to Tim Krul.

Xavi Quintilla is getting better and he will return to Norwich but, having been medically assessed in Spain back at parent club Villarreal, he will need to now isolate for two weeks so he won’t be back available until next year.

DF says Brexit will change the way that the club make transfer deals and that homegrown players will be looked at first but that we aren’t just scouting in Scotland and we will look for the same type of players in January. So that means cheaper options and players with injury issues (I’m kidding!)

DF describes the new transfer rules as “complicated” and says the club will have to review/change it’s scouting.

With the available players in mind, I guess DF will go:

McGovern

Aarons
Hanley
Gibson
Sorensen

Tettey
Skipp

Placheta
Stiepermann
Emi

Pukki

Subs

Barden – Vrancic – Martin – Zimmermann – McAlear – Omotoye – Omobamidele

I’d be tempted to have Cantwell on the bench too, as he has trained this week.

It’s getting better, isn’t it? But I would be happy to see McGovern, Sorensen and Stiepermann  on the bench with Krul, Xavi and Dowell/Cantwell in their places.
