The current campaign is coming towards an end and it seems that Grant and his coaching team are looking beyond this season and focusing on ensuring that we are as prepared as we can be ahead of the 2007/2008 campaign.

The Norwich manager and his assistant Jim Duffy have had a rare week off from the trials and tribulations of a Norwich City game due to the international break, but this doesn`t mean they can sit back and put their feet up – far from it. Both Grant and Duffy have visited Hungary over the weekend in a bid to find some new talent.

Grant said: “Jim was in Hungary on Sunday and I was there on Monday. We have a fantastic base in respect of the stadium and the support and everything else that goes with it, and now we have to go and get a team that matches it.”

Whether the duo found someone they liked the look of during their visit is unknown as yet but as a selling point Grant is right by saying that the stadium, the fans and even the training facilities could convince a lot of people to come to Carrow Road – Norwich City are a fantastic football club and Norfolk is a great place to live. It`s just a matter of finding the players that Grant wants to convince. This trip to Hungary will certainly not be the last as Grant plans to visit Spain in a bid to build his squad for next season.

“I will be going into Spain because the Spanish League runs on once our season is over. There is no transfer window for a manager – managers are always looking out trying to improve their side,” he added.

I`m encouraged by Grant`s transfer policy. One thing that can be guaranteed is that he certainly won`t be bringing just anyone to the club. Nigel Worthington`s transfer policy was suspect to say the least. The likes of Peter Thorne, Paul Heckingbottom and Mattias Jonson emphasise that point. Potentially the most relieving part of the revelation that Grant is travelling around Europe to find new players is that he is willing to look beyond Scotland!
