Just a couple of hours after Leroy Fer made a late cameo appearance for Norwich in the 3-0 defeat of Watford, Sky Sports reported that QPR have made an £8m bid that City have accepted.

Harry Redknapp said last month that he would like Fer at Loftus Road and a deal was being discussed. Since then, many thought that Rangers’ recruitment of Jordan Mutch had signalled the end of their interest in Fer, however Sky Sports suggest that a medical will take place on Monday.

Straight after the game, Neil Adams insisted that he didn’t want to lose The player:

“Of course we want to keep him,” he said. “He is not up to 100% like the rest of the squad because he was busy over the summer. It was great to get him on. He wanted to play, we got him just over 20 minutes, which was great for him and when he was on the ball he showed his quality.

“He is a top player. Leroy hasn`t said anything to me about where he sees his future. These things don`t tend to go between player and manager these days. It is all done by agents and those above me in the club.

“I`ve had said all along my position would not change. Who in their right mind would open the door to let Leroy Fer go out? We have to accept that business is business and if, and when, the right offer came along we would have to consider that. It hasn`t at the minute.

“The crowd showed their appreciation when he came on and we all want him to be a Norwich City but we`ll deal with anything that may arise as and when it happens.”

Around three weeks ago, I wrote a story surrounding information I had received from a person that I consider to be well connected and that person told me that Leroy Fer was definitely leaving – that may well be the case, it seems.
