Illness And Injury Concerns For Farke as Norwich Prepare For Cup Test

|

Norwich City’s Head Coach, Daniel Farke has several decisions to make as to who will face Bournemouth in Tuesday night’s fourth round Carabao Cup game at the Vitality Stadium.

Marco Stiepermann (Tonsillitis) and Todd Cantwell (hamstring strain) are definitely out and Todd is a big doubt for the weekend’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday. There are also concerns over Timm Klose, Max Aarons and Emi Buendia, Farke told the assembled media at Colney on Monday at his usual pre-match presser.

In more positive news, Teemu Pukki is back in training and could be an option from the bench. Despite missing a penalty against Brentford on Saturday, Jordan Rhodes has been in good form and the first choice striker in Pukki’s absence. Dennis Srbeny though, is pushing him hard for a start and is training well according to Farke.

This game will prove to be very tough with Bournemouth in the midst of their best ever start to a Premier League season and fresh off the back of a thumping win over Fulham on Saturday.

Eddie Howe has said that Josh King will definitely miss the game but other than that, he wasn’t giving much away in his own press conference, earlier on Monday.

Getting back to Norwich though, it seems that everyone wants to be involved at the moment with players who are tired or carrying niggles just wanting to play, Farke says. No-one wants to step aside, it seems.

That, I’m sure you’ll agree, can only be a good thing.
