Norwich City’s high profile pursuit of Wolves striker, Benik Afobe in the summer was a source of frustration for everyone of a Canary persuasion, as Wolves rebuffed all offers up to and including £10m from City.

Afobe started the season well but has struggled to find the net lately and just last week, his manager Kenney Jackett made a few comments on his club’s website about his main man.

Jackett basically said that ‘January will be an interesting time’ regarding Afobe, who has just one goal in his last nine games and it seemed to me that he hadn’t ruled out selling the player.

Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway, who is currently undertaking his ’10 in 10′ where he will watch 10 Championship games in 10 days seems to think the same after watching Wolves v Forest on Friday night and seeing Afobe start on the bench.

‘It’s a bit of a head scratcher that Benik Afobe was only on the bench,’ wrote the former Blackpool manager in his ’10 in 10 diary.’

‘Is his head in the right place? Is it a loss of form? Is he looking for a move? Maybe Kenny is looking to move him on to free up some money?’

‘It’s a bit of a strange situation. I’m just trying to read between the lines, but normally when a manager drops his top scorer, it’s to see if they can do without him.’

Afobe was an 84th minute substitute for on loan Adam Le Fondre as Forest salvaged a late equaliser through Dexter Blackstock in a 1-1 draw.

Hmm, I wonder if Afobe could’ve scored the sitter that Jerome missed against Everton?
