Norwich City Reportedly Interested In Highly Rated Defender

|

Norwich City are one of a number of clubs reported to be interested in signing Brentford centre back, Yoann Barbet according to French media outlet L’Equipe.

The highly-rated Frenchman’s contract at Brentford is due to expire in the summer, meaning that he would be available on a free transfer and with the future of our own Timm Klose uncertain, this could be just the sort of player Norwich are looking at.

He’s 25 years old, meaning he fits the right age demographic, is described as a “ball playing centre back” and he’s made 32 appearances for the Bees this season, scoring one goal.

The reported competition comes from Montpellier and Angers in France’s Ligue 1 and from Leeds United and Wolves in England.

Like one or two other reported transfer targets I’ve read about lately, this one does seem to be realistic and the price is certainly right. City’s Premier League return is likely to be confirmed very soon, so a Premier League tilt might just make the difference in the minds of some of these players.
