The domino effect that tends to happen in transfer windows could have a knock on for Norwich City with Timm Klose possibly becoming a target for FC Basel, should they sell Manuel Akanji, according to insidefutbol.com

Akanji is being actively pursued by Borussia Dortmund and is also interesting Tottenham, West Ham and Southampton. Dortmund have reportedly made a bid of around ?15m, which is getting closer to Basel`s valuation of the 22 year old.

Should Akanji leave Basel this month, then this report suggests that the Swiss Super League club will look to replace him with Timm Klose.

Klose is of course a Swiss international and in a World Cup year, his chances of returning to the national side`s squad would be massively improved if he joined Basel.

He cost Norwich a reported £8m from Wolfsburg in January 2016 and has become first choice under Daniel Farke, although he is likely to be one of the club`s highest earning players.

Add this story to the news we brought you last night that Norwich had enquired after Birmingham centre back, Michael Morrison and I think you can see where this is potentially going.

Should he leave for Basel, Timm would be joining ex-Canary Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Ricky has made 10 appearances and scored 7 goals since he signed in the summer but he has been sidelined by injury for much of the season.
