Norwich Linked With Late Move For Two La Liga Players

Norwich City are being linked with two late (probable) loan moves for Sevilla players, Joris Gnagnon and Ibrahim Amadou.

Transfer rumour discoverer extraordinaire cory@iwritethings23 has unearthed this rumour and it makes for interesting reading.

Both of these players are French and both play for La Liga stalwart, Sevilla. Both players only joined Sevilla last summer, with centre-back, Joris Gnagnon who is 22-years-old costing a reported £12.15m  from Stade Rennais. He made 7 appearances for Sevilla last season.

Ibrahim Amadou who is 26-years-old and a defensive midfielder who can also play as a centre-back, cost a reported £12.96m from Lille. He made 32 appearances for Sevilla last season.

Both players have four and three years left on their contracts, respectively and the report also suggests that Burnley are interested in Gnagnon.

The report suggests that City are talking to Sevilla about the possibility of loan deals with perhaps options to buy the players, depending on performances being up to scratch and all parties being happy.

This is a slightly surprising development, considering the stance from Mr Webber and Herr Farke that there is no money left, although a couple of summer’s ago, Grant Hanley was bought towards the end of the transfer window when similar comments were made, so late deals do get done.

There’s been a bit of concern among some Canary fans on social media about our defence and the need for a new centre-back and a defensive midfielder.

Hmm…
