Norwich City Winger, Onel Hernandez will miss the next two to three weeks with a hernia problem, Daniel Farke has just revealed at the pre-Reading press conference.
Hernandez won the player of the month award for August, which was presented to him before Saturday’s 1-0 win over Middlesbrough and will have surgery on Wednesday.
Onel has started the season at a pace and scored twice on the opening day, including a last minute equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Birmingham City.

Farke explained to the assembled media that Hernandez has been playing through the issue for a few weeks but it has finally become too much for him, hence the need for an operation.
This is a big blow and he’s pencilled in for a return at home against Stoke in early October. It will however be an opportunity for someone else to get some game time. You would’ve thought that would be a chance for Ben Marshall but the summer signing from Wolves is going to miss out due to illness.
In other injury news from the pre-Reading presser, Marco Stiepermann is a doubt with a hip injury, which must be very disappointing for the German midfielder, who was excellent against Middlesbrough.
Sounds like the injuries are really mounting up.
