Norwich have given Tottenham youngster Mark O’Toole an Academy scholarship. The 16 year old has been snapped up by Worthington after impressing in a youth tournament in Portugal recently, helping the Republic of Ireland Under-17 team to second place. O’Toole is all set to join up with the Rep. of Ireland U-17s again in the summer to play in the UEFA Under-17 Championships. It’s good to see Worthington taking an interest in the Academy at last, but I feel it will still be a very long time before we see O’Toole or any other Academy player break into the first team, however good their performances.
