Paul McVeigh has signed a one year extension on his current contract at Norwich City. It’s nice to finally hear some good news about the club, and Norwich fans will be delighted to hear that they will be treated to the trickery of the 28 year old Irishman for another season. Nigel Worthington had this to say; ‘I am delighted that Paul now has a further 12 months to run on his contract. Hopefully he can continue the good form he has already shown this season.’

Despite Worthington saying that McVeigh has been on good form this season, he hasn’t been played nearly as much as he deserves. It’s good to see McVeigh has signed a new contract, but many fans feel that he deserved a longer deal. It still remains to be seen if he will manage to hold down a place in the team next season, as Worthington clearly doesn’t favour him. In my honest opinion, McVeigh has only been given his new one year deal because it gets the fans off Worthington’s back, call me cynical if you will. That being said, I’m still delighted that he’ll be here for at least another season, and hopefully our next manager (soon may he come) will fully appreciate Macca’s talent and extend the deal further.
