Adam Phillips is on the verge of joining League Two Cambridge United on Loan for the rest of the season reports the EDP

Phillips will be 20 years old this month and joined Norwich last summer on a free transfer after a short trial, having been released by Liverpool. He has been an integral part of the Canaries` Development Side and has also been the Captain under the management of Matt Gill.

Now though, Phillips is set for League football experience at Cambridge, who currently occupy 12th place in League Two, under manager, Shaun Derry.

Adam has been an unused substitute for the first team twice this season and many of us thought he was close to playing. I suppose that competition is fierce though with the likes of Tettey, Trybull, Pritchard, Maddison, Reed and Vrancic all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Playing regular U23 football is alright but it`s no substitute for actual League football, so getting him, potentially others as well, out on loan is a sensible move. He`s still young, so let`s see what happens at Cambridge and what sort of impact he can make.

All the best, Adam.
