Youssef Safri has returned to training following the hip injury he picked up during the defeat at Crystal Palace. Despite Safri’s return to training, there is still some doubt as to whether he will be fit to play against Leeds United at the weekend. Nigel Worthington told the Pink’Un: “Youssef is back in training now, which is good news, but it’s too early to say whether he will be ready for the weekend. He has missed quite a lot of work and he needs to get back to the levels he had before the injury. At the moment I’d say he is touch and go for Leeds.”

So it appears that we will once again be without the key man in midfield, but there is good news on the injury front with Jason Shackell and Andy Hughes confirmed fit for Saturday’s game, despite seemingly struggling with injuries against Stoke last weekend. With any luck, Safri will be fit to play against a Leeds side that haven’t lost in eight games, because if he isn’t, we may well see a repeat of what happened at Crystal Palace.
