Today’s transfer rumours are hoping not to be overshadowed by Fixture Friday?

According to the Sun the Canaries are ‘battling it out’ with Swansea and Everton over the signing of Craig Mackail-Smith, which is a little surprising considering Paul Lambert seemed to suggest he wasn’t interested in any more strikers.

What’s more frustrating though is the paper’s failure to to mention each manager’s choice of weapon for the battle. For what it’s worth, I picture Lambert and Moyes giving each other the evil eye while Rodgers checks himself out in the nearest available reflective surface.

West Bromwich Albion’s Scott Carson is the latest goalkeeper to be linked with a move to Norfolk. The dimple-chinned wonder only has a year left on his contract at the Hawthorns (we’ll ignore the fact that they have a option on a further year), so the Baggies are said to be keen to cash-in. Somewhere between £1m – £2m should do the trick.

Not content with scrapping away with Moyes and Rodgers, Lambert is also in a fight with new Nottingham Forest boss Schteve McClaren (m’duck), who is desperately trying to keep Lewis McGugan out it his clutches.

City and Stoke have each bid £4m for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, and in the most/least believable transfer rumour of the day so far, the club have agreed to sell Chris Martin to Championship strugglers and relegation favourites Ipswich Town or £800,000.
