Very Good News For Norwich Ahead Of West Brom Test And All The Latest Transfer News

|

Daniel Farke gave Norwich City fans the best possible news today as he spoke to the assembled media at his usual pre-match presser at Colney.

Last week, he reported that Jamal Lewis would be back in the squad for Saturday’s trip to the Hawthorns but it’s a little better than just that.

Alex Tettey, Louis Thompson and Emi Buendia are also back fit and available, with Farke even saying that Buendia could potentially start the game.

Carlton Morris has also been back in full training this week and will be looking to get some U23s appearances under his belt. Having missed the whole of pre-season after suffering an ACL injury, while playing for Shrewsbury in the League One play-off final at Wembley, I imagine that he will have to build up his fitness gradually and sensibly. He could well be an asset as the season progresses though.

The only bad news is that Timm Klose has had to have an injection in his knee but he will travel with the squad to WBA.

Marco Stiepermann will be fit for the visit of Birmingham City next Friday with this game coming too soon though.

In transfer news, Ivo Pinto is in Turkey, presumably talking to Rizespor about a move but there is nothing new to report on regarding Nelson Oliveira, which is probably as frustrating for us all as it is for the player himself.

Farke was at pains to point out that of the next five games WBA, Birmingham, Sheffield Utd, Leeds and Ipswich, Norwich didn’t win one of those reverse fixtures in the opening weeks of the season, gaining just two points from those matches.

I guess he’s trying to play it down a bit, pointing out that each game is as important as the next.

That run of games is likely to go some way to deciding who finishes where, in my view, but there are plenty more games after this tough looking run.

If you’re going to The Hawthorns, sing your hearts out for the lads!
